Tēnā koutou katoa. My name is Wendy Holley-Boen. As a member of the Equity through Education centre, I am pleased to be considered for PLD accreditation by the Ministry of Education.
All of our PLD is tailored to the context and community, in order to:
- Build confidence and skills in using new technologies and digital affordances
- Provide equitable learning environments for all students particularly those marginalised by personal and social circumstances
- Support teachers and leaders to engage professional inquiry leading to stronger teacher agency. Gathering, analysing and interpreting data to make informed decisions in partnership with children, young people and their families/whānau
- Support teachers to understand cultural diversity and engage in culturally responsive and effective practice
In these ways, our courses acknowledge the powerful role teachers play in overcoming inequity and promoting presence and participation in life-long and life-wide learning.
